Parking permits, rules & regulationsParking permitsPermits must be displayed on the inside of the rear windshield in the lower left (driver's side) corner. Adhesive provided on stickers must be used to attach sticker directly to the windshield (no plexiglas's or boards are permitted for displaying stickers.) Failure to properly display permit may result in a parking ticket and fine. Each permanent sticker may be used on one car only. Cars without a current, valid permit parked in CCAD lots may be towed at the owner's expense. CCAD disclaims any responsibility for damages or losses incurred as a result of parking on college property or from being towed. Parking is limited; a sticker does not guarantee a space. The permit and a brochure explaining parking regulations may be obtained from The Safety & Security Office, located inside the Administration Building at 107 North Ninth Street. Parking overnight is prohibited. CCAD parking lots open at 7 am and close at 2 am. Temporary permitsEmployees who will be driving vehicles other than their registered car for short periods of time must obtain a temporary permit. Vehicles must be parked off campus until a temporary permit is obtained and properly displayed on the vehicle. Temporary permits are marked with an expiration date and must be placed where they can be easily viewed through the rear windshield. Temporary permits without an expiration date are not valid. The use of anything other than a valid temporary permit could result in a fine or towing of the vehicle. When acquiring a permit (permanent or temporary), individuals should not park in CCAD lots until a valid permit is properly displayed on the vehicle. Temporary permits can be obtained at the service desk of the Safety & Security Office weekdays, 9 am.–4:30 pm. Visitor parking permitsVisitor permits are for individuals visiting CCAD who are neither students nor employees. (Visitor spaces are not temporary parking places for employees or students.) Visitor permits are obtained from the service desk in the Safety & Security Office. These permits must be placed on the vehicle so that they are clearly visible. Visitor permits are valid only for the date indicated on the permit. Visitors are subject to parking rules and regulations. Replacement permitsReplacement of lost or damaged permits are available at the service desk in the Safety & Security Office. Parking rules & regulationsTraffic and parking regulations are enforced. Those who violate parking rules and regulations may receive a fine and/or have their cars towed beginning with the first parking violation. Where to parkCollege-owned lots are marked with standard CCAD signs. Employees may park in any CCAD lot, but must first fill up the lots designated for faculty and staff. Students are not permitted to park in lots designated for faculty and staff parking. No unauthorized person is permitted to park in handicapped or reserved parking spaces. Vehicles must be parked front-bumper-in between the parking lines in paved and lined lots and in front of blocks if they are present. Parking in the church lotThere is limited parking for students, faculty, and staff in the First Congregational Church parking lot adjacent to the Canzani Center. Parking in the church lot is available in spaces 1–90 only, weekdays from 8 am–6:30 pm (unless special arrangements are made by the college with the church for event parking). Space numbered 1 & 2 are reserved for President's Office visitors only. This lot is owned by the church and it is important that we respect the agreed upon terms for using their parking spaces. Anyone violating these terms will be towed and/or ticketed. Vehicles will be ticketed and/or towed if:
Parking fines and towingTickets are issued and fines levied for vehicles in violation of the parking rules (e.g. cars that are parked improperly, in unauthorized spaces, or not displaying a current permit in the lower left (driver's side) rear windshield). Individuals may be subject to a fine beginning with the first parking violation. Fines must be paid to the Bursar's Office (located in the Administration Building). In addition, a violation of parking rules may result in the vehicle being towed (beginning with the first parking violation). Towing charges are levied on the vehicle by the towing company and cannot be waived or reimbursed by CCAD. Individuals should be aware that if they park in a lot not owned by CCAD, the owner of the lot may have the car towed. Having your car towed is very expensive and inconvenient. Please review the campus map carefully to make certain you only park in lots owned or leased by CCAD. Do not park in lots owned by Columbus State Community College. They are no longer permitting CCAD parking in their lots and this year they will tow! Appealing a parking ticketThe following steps should be used to appeal a parking violation:
